Comparison of Immunogenicity Between Inactivated and Live Attenuated Hepatitis A Vaccines Among Young Adults: A 3-Year Follow-up Study.
نویسندگان
چکیده
UNLABELLED A randomized clinical trial of hepatitis A vaccines (1 or 2 doses of inactivated vaccine [Healive] or 1 dose of live attenuated vaccine [Biovac]) was conducted among adults to evaluate seroprotection rates and geometric mean concentrations of antibody against hepatitis A virus for 36 months. High rates of seroprotection persisted for at least 36 months among adults who received 1 or 2 doses of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine but not among adults who received 1 dose of live attenuated hepatitis A vaccine. The long-term serial monitoring of immunogenicity induced by 1 dose of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine is needed to determine an effective alternative to a 2-dose schedule. CLINICAL TRIALS REGISTRATION NCT01865968.

Long term follow-up study to evaluate immunogenicity and safety of a single dose of live attenuated hepatitis a vaccine in children
Worldwide, viral hepatitis continues to be a cause of considerable morbidity and mortality. Mass immunization with a single dose of live attenuated HAV has been shown to significantly reduce disease burden in the community. This was a phase IV, 5-year follow up study carried out at 4 centers (Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai) across India. The subjects with antibody titer <20 mIU/mL at baseli...

In the present study, the potency and immunogenicity of the inactivated bivalent vaccine of Newcastle disease (ND) and avian influenza (AI) produced by Razi institute in Iran were compared with a similar imported vaccine administered by standard methods to specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chicken. A total of 150 twenty-one-day-old SPF chickens were used for evaluating Razi and imported inactivated ...
متن کاملDevelopment, Production, and Postmarketing Surveillance of Hepatitis A Vaccines in China
China has long experience using live attenuated and inactivated vaccines against hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection. We summarize this experience and provide recent data on adverse events after immunization (AEFIs) with hepatitis A vaccines in China. We reviewed the published literature (in Chinese and English) and the published Chinese regulatory documents on hepatitis A vaccine development, pr...
متن کاملRequirements of New Vaccines against Novel Influenza Viruses
The currently available influenza vaccines were developed in the 1930s through the 1960s using technologies that were state-of-the art for the times. Decades of advancement in virology and immunology have provided the tools for making better vaccines against influenza virus. Among young children, live attenuated vaccine had significantly better efficacy than inactivated vaccine. An evaluation o...

Introduction: Vaccinology provides promising approaches for the control of various infectious diseases. Among different strategies, DNA vaccines offer attractive research opportunities for development of vaccines for induction of antigen-specific immunity owing to their stability, simplicity of delivery, safety and cost effectiveness. However, there is a need to increase their potency by the ...
